The memorial complex Sad Ibn Abu Vakkos is located in the village of Avliye in the Gallaaral district of the Jizzakh region.
The memorial complex is a place of worship for thousands of Muslim believers. This memorial complex covers an area of 14 hectares. The entire territory of the complex is divided into 2 parts.
The first part includes a small lake and a holy spring with spring water. The beauty of the nature of this place surprises the human eye. A large number of trees have turned the lake area into a large green park. A large number of observation areas have been established along the shores of the lake, from which you can admire the landscapes of this place. In the lake you can see black fish swimming. These fish are considered sacred and listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The second part of the memorial complex is formed by the Sad Ibn Abu Vakkos mausoleum towering over the lake. It is known that Sa'd Ibn Abu Vakkos was a resident of Mecca and in the 16th year of the hijra he was appointed as a guide for the Arab army, which Caliph Umar ibn Khattob sent to Iran and Movarounnahr to conquer these lands.
The mausoleum was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The builders of this mausoleum were the famous Jizzakh masters Usto Komil, Usto Kobil, Usto Zukhur and Usto Mirziyo. The mausoleum has the shape of a regular quadrangle, over which a turquoise dome rises.
Currently, this complex attracts hundreds of tourists. A large number of wedding couples visit this place in order to take pictures at the famous architectural complex.
The village of Avliyoota is located on the "Great Silk Road", in the "Okcha-Changal" massif, where the Sughd-Saks tribes lived in ancient times. In the southeastern part of the village, on the western side of the lake, there is the Mug fortress.
According to legend, when the prophet Suleiman stopped here to quench his thirst, he touched the stone wall of the gorge with his hand, and pure medicinal water came from it. The Prophet Suleiman quenched his thirst and continued on his way.
People here not only rest and purify themselves spiritually. According to the testimony of the caretakers and visitors of this revered place, the spring water in this complex has healing qualities. It can cure diseases of the digestive system and respiratory tract. The environment helps lower blood pressure. The fish swimming in the lake are not simple - they are royal fish, the local population says. Trout is called the royal fish in Uzbekistan.
Newlyweds come here from all over the area for a walk, take pictures.
Conditions for recreation have been created around the lake. People bring food here, and sitting around the low tables "khon takhta", they can have a snack after a long journey. Fresh mountain air promotes better appetite.
