Lake Sudoche is a West Asian migratory route for transcontinental migratory birds moving south and southeast from Siberia and the Tundra. This lake consists of several lakes in the northwest of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (small and large Sudoche, Karateren, Begdullaidin, Omar Salim, Karadzhar, Akushpa, etc.).
Intensive consumption of water from the Amu Darya led to a significant drying out of the delta, and the lake soon lost its agricultural value. Currently, the flow has been restored mainly through collector-drainage waters. Lake Sudoche is sometimes overcrowded, and in some periods it is planned to deliver water to the Western Aral. The salinity of Lake Sudoche is 3-4%. In the hottest period of the year, it warms up to 25-27 ° C. In November-December, the lake freezes and opens in late February - early April.
