Natural - archaeological complex Museum-reserve "Sarmyshsay" was established on September 23, 2004 by the decision of the khokim of Navoi region №193 in the Navbakhor region, a gathering of citizens "Olchin".
The archaeological complex "Sarmyshsay" is about 7 thousand years old. In the tract there are more than 10 thousand rock carvings, archaeological monuments of cultural heritage, as well as a rich diverse fauna.
The best of them is the rock art gallery.
The petroglyphs left by our ancient ancestors are of valuable historical significance.
They depict the lifestyles of our ancestors, their worldview on this petroglyphs are a very important historical source.
The rock carvings depict bulls, cows, lions, tigers, leopards, wolves, dogs, snakes, horses, camels, deer, goats, argali and other animals.
The petroglyphs of the Sarmyshsay tract provide information about the first discoveries related to human civilization. For example, there are images of hunting weapons: spears, arrows, swords, bows, household items: stupas, barbecues, plows, etc.
At the same time, cave paintings of geometric shapes speak of the use of various calculations by ancient people.
