Pulatkhan (sometimes also called Polatkhan, Palatkhan) is a table mountain in the northwestern spurs of the Chatkal ridge - the western part of the Middle Tien Shan,
located in the Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The plateau is located 11 kilometers southeast of the peak of the Big Chimgan. From the top of Chimgan it is a small flat area of an irregular triangular shape, stretched from southeast to northwest for a distance of about 5 km. The length of the southeast side is up to 3 km. The northeastern and southeastern sides are steep cliffs, stepping and steeply descending to the Terekli and Karaarcha rivers. The southwestern side in its southeastern part is steep and steep, while its northwestern part is flatter and goes down almost without cliffs to the river bed. Azalsay (left tributary of the Terekli river). All the rivers surrounding Pulatkhan are included in the Akbulak river basin (left tributary of the Chatkal).
The area of the plateau is about 8 square kilometers, the maximum height is 2823 meters. The southeastern side is most elevated (~ 2800 m.), The northern side is lower (~ 2700 m.) With a maximum elevation of 2732 m in the central part, and in the north-west, the maximum elevation is 2745 m. the eastern part has a height of up to 2800 m, gradually decreasing to the north-west to an altitude of 2600 m. In the same direction (from southeast to northwest), the entire surface of the plateau gradually decreases. There are two triangulation signs on the plateau: in the western part (2745 meters) and in the eastern, near the highest point of the plateau.
There is a spring in the eastern part of Pulatkhan. In springtime, a stream flows through the plateau without runoff. The water from the stream seeps through the bowels of the plateau and flows out of the walls of the plateau, forming waterfalls. Pulatkhan abounds in caves (the deepest is Zaydman's cave, 506 meters deep [2]) and karst sinkholes.
On the eastern edge of Pulatkhan, there is a plateau with an area of 200 square meters, connected to the main plateau by a narrow isthmus, 10-15 meters wide. Across the isthmus there is a man-made stone wall, one meter high. This plateau is called the small Pulatkhan because of the similarity of the form with the table mountain. In the rock on small Pulatkhan there is the Ayim-Kavor cave, which has a depth of 20 meters. From various points of the plateau, views of the three-thousanders of the Big Chimgan, Okhotnichiy (Aukashka), Kyzynura open up; to the passes of Takhta, Tumanny, Sypuchiy, Chilanzarchouki (Komsomolets), to the Maidantal tract, to the valleys of the Terekli, Karaarcha, Akbulak, Azalsay rivers.
