Lake Urungach, unique in its beauty, is located 160 kilometers from Tashkent, on the territory of the Ugam-Chatkal National Park, at an altitude of 1227 meters.
The meaning of the word Urungach from the Uyghur means kash - jade, Urung - light, i.e. light or white jade. There are two lakes: the lower one is small with a beautiful turquoise tint and the lower one is a large lake.
Visiting jade lakes is considered the most exciting in the period from May 15 to June 25, when the lake will be the deepest. After this period, the water gradually leaves the lower lake, and by autumn-winter it dries up completely. In upper Urungach, water remains all year round.
The beauty of the lake and the mountains around it surprises any visitor who is immersed in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The lake is unique in that its waters have a rich jade color. These places look especially beautiful in spring, when beautiful snowdrops bloom surrounded by trails and give this place an even more beautiful view. In summer, the water temperature allows you to swim in the cleanest lake and sunbathe on its shore. Memories of this unique lake and its landscape will remain for a long time.
